5 WAYS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO WORKOUT
Hitting the gym regularly and following a balanced diet is not easy. It requires a lot of willpower and motivation.
But we have got 5 ways that can help you keep yourself motivated and make working out a habit.
1. Know your Why
Why do you want to workout?
Why is there a constant voice in your head telling you to start hitting the gym?
Is it because you are overweight?
Or are you trying to build strength and stamina?
Or is there a risk of you becoming inactive due to sitting at your desk all day?
Or is it because you are a sportsperson and hence want to improve your physical fitness?
Whatever your reason is, understanding it will help you obtain clarity over what you need to focus on more,
be it a type of exercise or following a certain diet. Keep a health Journal if required and write this on the first page.
Remind yourself constantly as to why you are doing this.

2. Set Realistic Fitness Goals
Know your requirement. Say you want to lose weight. Then don’t set goals like losing 15 kgs per month
or becoming skinny in 2 weeks! That is not happening and even if it did, chances are that this motivation
wont last long.
Sooner or later, you’ll gain it all back and due to continuous weight loss, you might start experiencing fatigue.
Instead focus on what you must cut down on or improve.

If you are someone who has the habit of eating out, try slowly reducing it to 4 times a week, then twice a week
to once a week instead of quitting it all once.

Same thing with your workouts. Try taking short walks around the neighborhood for a week and
then increasing it a to longer distance for the following week.
Once you make it a habit, it will be easier for you to workout regularly!

3. Workout with a friend
Hanging out with your best friend isn’t boring right?
Then why not drag him/her to the gym too?
Working out with a partner helps push yourself harder and makes working out fun too.
Help each other lift weights, motivate the other to complete a rep more.

4. Find the right workout for you
Just because few find lifting weights or running on treadmill fun- doesn’t mean you have to!
Find what is that one activity that makes you get off the couch.

Be it Zumba, Aerobics, kickboxing, swimming etc.
Anything. Anything will work till the time you enjoy doing it. It not only is beneficial but also you get to
learn something new.

5. Change your workout routine
Often our workout routine becomes too monotonous and we end up quitting.
You don't need to repeat your workouts everyday.

Instead try mixing up different workouts. If you are someone who does cardio everyday -
try including few ab exercises, CrossFit or Zumba, circuit workouts etc.

(like mountain climbing, cycling).
